Every major brand, fit to you

Hearing Aids in Milwaukee

North Shore Hearing is independent and brand-agnostic. We fit every major manufacturer, so the right hearing aid is chosen around your hearing and your life, not around one supplier.

How we approach it

The recommendation fits the person

Brand-agnostic means the fit comes first. Whichever manufacturer you choose, three things stay the same.

Before you buy

Demonstrated first

You hear the hearing aids in the room before you decide, with time to compare and no commitment to buy.

Verified

Measured in your ear

Every fitting is confirmed with Real Ear Measurement, so the sound is right in your ear, not only on a screen.

Clear cost

Bundled or unbundled

Fold follow-up care into the price, or pay as you go. Either way the cost is explained up front.

Styles

Six shapes, from visible to invisible

The right style depends on your hearing, the shape of your ears, and how much you want to notice the hearing aid. Here is the range, from the most common fit to the most hidden.

  • A receiver-in-canal hearing aid: a slim case worn behind the ear with a thin wire running into the ear canal
    RIC

    Receiver-in-canal

The most common style we fit. A slim case rests behind the ear and a thin wire carries sound into the canal. Discreet, comfortable, and versatile enough for most levels of hearing loss.

    Style examplePhonak Audéo Infinio

  • A behind-the-ear hearing aid, with the full body of the hearing aid sitting behind the ear and a soft tube leading forward
    BTE

    Behind-the-ear

The whole hearing aid sits behind the ear and sends sound down a soft tube. It handles every level of loss, including the most severe, and the larger body is easy to pick up and adjust.

    Style exampleOticon Intent

  • An in-the-ear hearing aid, custom-molded to fill the outer bowl of the ear
    ITE

    In-the-ear

Custom-molded to fill the outer bowl of the ear. The larger faceplate leaves room for controls you can feel, and it seats securely through the day.

  • An in-the-canal hearing aid, a small custom shell that sits partway into the ear canal
    ITC

    In-the-canal

A smaller custom fit that sits partway into the canal. Less visible than a full in-the-ear hearing aid, with enough room for a practical battery and a volume control.

    Style exampleSignia Integrated Xperience

  • A completely-in-canal hearing aid, sitting deep in the canal with only a small removal cord visible
    CIC

    Completely-in-canal

Sits deep in the canal with only a small pull-cord showing. Very discreet, and a good match for mild to moderate hearing loss.

    Style exampleWidex Allure

  • An invisible-in-canal hearing aid, fitted deep enough in the canal to stay out of sight
    IIC

    Invisible-in-canal

The most hidden option, fitted deep enough to stay out of sight. Best suited to milder loss, and to anyone who would rather the hearing aid disappear.
